Member Domini 400 Social SM Index—2008

EMC has been a member of the Domini 400 SocialSM Index (DS400) since 1998. The DS400 is a float-adjusted, market capitalization-weighted, common stock index of U.S. equities. Launched by KLD in May 1990, the DS400 is the first benchmark index constructed using environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors. It is a widely recognized benchmark for measuring the impact of social and environmental screening on investment portfolios.

Member Domini 400 Catholic Values Index—2008

EMC has been a member of the KLD Catholic Values 400SM Index (CV400) since 1998. The CV400 is a float-adjusted market capitalization weighted index. The Index is designed to represent the large-cap U.S. equity market available to Catholic investors who seek equity ownership in alignment with the moral and social teachings of the Catholic Church.

Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index—2008

For the second consecutive year, EMC has been included in CDP's "Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index." This index, a key component of CDP's annual Global 500 Report, highlights the constituent companies within the FTSE Global 500 Index which have displayed the most professional approach to corporate governance in respect of climate change disclosure practices.

EMC Captures Company of the Year Award—2008

For the second consecutive year, EMC has captured the highest marks and Company of the Year Award in the Network Storage and Information Management Software categories in the 2008 Annual Report Card (ARC) from Everything Channel's VARBusiness.  Now in its 23rd year, the VARBusiness ARC Awards recognize outstanding partner programs and superb vendor service in 18 major product categories.   This is strong validation from our partners that the EMC Velocity Partner Program is robust and our industry-leading products, world-class training and easy-to-use tools provide them with the opportunity to profitably grow their businesses with EMC.

FTSE4Good Index Series—2008

FTSE Group confirms that EMC has been independently assessed according to the FTSE4Good criteria, and has satisfied the requirements to become a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index Series. Created by the global index company FTSE Group, FTSE4Good is an equity index series that is designed to facilitate investment in companies that meet globally recognized corporate responsibility standards. Companies in the FTSE4Good Index Series have met stringent social, ethical and environmental criteria, and are positioned to capitalize on the benefits of responsible business practice.

Carbon Disclosure Project "Best in Class"—2007

EMC was honored as "Best in Class" in its approach to climate change disclosure by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), a non-profit which compiles corporate reports on the business implications of climate change on behalf of over 315 global investors with more than $41 trillion in assets. EMC was included in the "Climate Disclosure Leadership Index," an honor roll for global corporations distinguished by the disclosure of their awareness of the risks and opportunities of climate change, as well as the quality and effectiveness of programs put in place to reduce overall greenhouse gas emissions.

EPA Carbon Copy - Featured IMP—2007

In recognition of EMC's dynamic and comprehensive approach to our Climate Leaders GHG Inventory Management Plan (IMP), EPA featured our IMP on the Climate Leaders website. EMC was also recognized on the front page of EPA's Spring 2007 Carbon Copy News Letter

DOE Energy Champion Award—2007

EMC's Apex North Carolina manufacturing plant was recognized by the Department of Energy Industrial Technologies Program (ITP) as an "Energy Champion Plant" for posting impressive energy savings and demonstrating superior leadership toward achieving national goals for reducing industrial energy and carbon emissions. The Energy Champion award was presented to only 63 out of 700 plants across the nation that received DOE energy assessments in 2006.

China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID) IT Service Award—September 2007

EMC China Services has received the IT Service Award from the China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID) for the fifth consecutive year. The award recognizes EMC China for outstanding services performance and customer commitment in the category of IT Storage System Services.

CIO 100—August 2007

EMC appears on the CIO 100 list by CIO magazine for being one of the top 100 companies embracing IT innovation. EMC’s IT department was recognized for its work on the Synergy project for successfully integrating multiple IT and business systems in order to improve business processes and system capabilities, support revenue generation, and enhance Total Customer Experience (TCE).

CMP Channel’s VARBusiness Company of the Year—August 2007

EMC and its Velocity Partner Program captured the Company of the Year Award in CMP Channel’s VARBusiness Annual Report Card (ARC). EMC was recognized in the Network Storage and Storage Management Software categories it participated in.

BusinessWeek’s InfoTech 100—June 2007

EMC was named to BusinessWeek’s InfoTech 100, a listing of the 100 most innovative companies. The InfoTech 100 honors companies that are constantly reinventing who they are, what they produce, and how they sell. EMC made the list due to its "homerun" purchase of VMWare and 36 percent profit increase in the first quarter of 2007.

ECM Connection ACE Award—April 2007

EMC’s enterprise content management (ECM) offerings won the ACE Award for the government industry. Presented by ECM Connection, the ACE Awards are given to companies that offer innovative, feature-rich product lines, valuable information resources for customers and partners, and outstanding outreach programs and services. EMC won in the government industry category for its EMC Documentum and EMC Captiva enterprise content management offerings.

AIIM E-Doc Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards—April 2007

EMC won AIIM E-Doc Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards in four categories. EMC’s Documentum offerings won the Readers’ Choice Award in the categories of "Enterprise Content Management Suites," "Web Content Management", "Search," and "Records Management." The awards recognize software and hardware manufacturers in the enterprise content management industry as selected by the readers of the magazine.

Best of Kentucky—April 2007

The Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice receives a Best of Kentucky award for its EMC Physical Security solution—an IP-based network surveillance system that stores video and other data from physical security devices.

The Wired 40—April 2007

Wired magazine selected EMC to be included on "The Wired 40" list. The annual list recognizes 40 of the most innovative companies in the world. According to Wired magazine, the companies appearing on "The Wired 40" represent masters of innovation and technology, global thinkers who dominate their industries and point the way to the future.

Business Today Top Ten—March 2007

EMC Corporation was named one of the top ten most visible and highly regarded hardware companies in India by an independent survey conducted by Cirrus, a corporate image monitor in India. The results of the survey appeared in the March 2007 issue of Business Today magazine, one of India’s most influential business publications. The list is the only one of its kind in India and serves as a critical benchmark for companies evaluating their cross-industry performance in the region.

VARBusiness Top 60 Channel Executives—March 2007

EMC’s Mitch Breen and Pete Koliopoulos both appear on VARBusiness magazine’s list of the Top 60 Channel Executives. The list honors the best and brightest among vendor channel executives.

VARBusiness 5-Star Partner Program—March 2007

EMC was honored by VARBusiness magazine for having a "5-Star Partner Program." The 5-Star rating is given to a select group of companies that provide the most comprehensive channel offerings and truly deliver on their promise of channel commitment. More than 230 organizations applied for the 5-Star designation and only 65 were selected.

KMWorld 100 Companies that Matter in Knowledge Management—March 2007

EMC Corporation was named one of the 100 companies that matter in knowledge management by KMWorld magazine. EMC was recognized due, in part, to its Documentum and Captiva content management solutions.

Small Business Technology Magazine—February 2007

EMC Retrospect 7.5 is awarded "A Product That Gets the Job Done" in Small Business Technology Magazine’s annual salute to the best technology and services for small businesses. This award marks Retrospect’s seventh since the product’s release in February 2006.

Small Business Computing Best Products of the Year—February 2007

EMC CLARiiON AX150i was runner-up in the Storage Hardware category of the Best Products of the Year by Small Business Computing. The judges stated that EMC’s strong placement in this competition demonstrates that the industry’s major players can create products that make sense for small businesses.

Storage magazine/SearchStorage.com Best Storage Products of the Year—January 2007

EMC InfoScape was awarded the Silver Award in the Storage Management Software category for Best Storage Products of the Year by Storage magazine and SearchStorage.com.

Climate Leaders Goal Recognition—2006

EMC was recognized by EPA for pledging to reduce U.S. GHG emissions by 8 percent per square foot from 2005 to 2012.

Groom Energy Environmental and Energy Conservation Award—2006

EMC received this energy conservation award in recognition of EMC's environmental and civic leadership for investing in Energy Efficient lighting technologies at our Franklin Massachusetts manufacturing facility, which annually eliminate 2,123,634 kWh and 3,185,451 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions.

Best Work Places for Commuters—2006

EMC was recognized for its interfacility shuttle bus system as an alternative means of transportation to greatly reduce automotive emissions. For three years running, EMC was recognized as one of the Best Workplaces for Commuters by the EPA and the U.S. Department of Transportation. Since EMC began participation in Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection's Rideshare program, the company has prevented 30 tons of local air pollutants from being generated.

eWeek Labs Top Five Storage Developments—December 2006

EMC Avamar data de-duplication software is named one of the top-five storage developments for the year by eWeek Labs—the technology testing arm of eWeek magazine.

Service & Support Professionals Association (SSPA) Hall of Fame—November 2006

EMC is inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Service & Support Professionals Association (SSPA) as a five-time winner of the SSPA’s STAR Award for Mission Critical Support. This category recognizes EMC as being best at keeping some of the world’s most sophisticated IT environments up and running 24x7 through exceptional support.

American Honda Motor Co. Premier Partner Award—November 2006

EMC is awarded a Premier Partner Award by American Honda Motor Co. for excellence in providing information management and storage systems, software, and solutions to manage Honda’s ever-increasing volume of information. The Premier Partner awards recognize suppliers who embrace American Honda’s philosophy of exceeding customer expectations.

Fujitsu Computer Products Innovative Leadership Award—September 2006

EMC is awarded the Innovative Leadership Award by Fujitsu Computer Products for the design and implementation of a unified enterprise content management platform for Lahey Clinic. The award program recognizes content management solutions that streamline business processes and positively affect customers’ bottom line. The award-winning solution combines EMC Captiva InputAccel document capture software, the EMC Documentum enterprise content management platform, and Fujitsu scanners.

Windows IT Pro Readers’ Choice Awards—September 2006

EMC is honored with two 2006 Readers’ Choice Awards by Windows IT Pro magazine for excellence in the Windows market. The EMC CLARiiON CX family of networked storage systems won Best Storage Area Network (SAN) Array and the EMC Centera series of content addressed storage (CAS) platforms was recognized as Best Enterprise Backup/Recovery/Archive hardware.

Computerworld Horizon Award—August 2006

VMware’s Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) earns a Computerworld 2006 Horizon Award as one of the top ten innovative technologies surveyed that meets the needs of enterprise IT. DRS—part of the VirtualCenter 3 management software-automatically balances the workload among pools of virtual servers, allowing servers to operate at 80% or greater utilization. In addition, VMware Player, which lets users evaluate new or beta software contained in virtual machines without lengthy setup or system configuration, earns an Honorable Mention in the Horizon survey. VMware is a subsidiary of EMC Corporation.

Microsoft Partner Program Awards—July 2006

EMC is honored with three 2006 Microsoft Partner Program Awards for work done by the EMC Microsoft Practice. The company is recognized among Microsoft’s top partners for delivering market-leading customer solutions built on Microsoft technology in the Business Process and Integration and Enterprise Content Management categories. EMC also won Microsoft’s U.S. Regional Customer Award.

Manufacturing Business Technology Magazine Global 100—July 2006

EMC is ranked 15th on Manufacturing Business Technology magazine’s Global 100 listing of suppliers of manufacturing, enterprise, and supply chain business applications solutions.

InfoStor/Association of Storage Networking Professionals (ASNP) Most Valuable Product (MVP) Award—July 2006

The EMC eDiscovery Solution is voted winner of the "Compliance and Retention" category for the Most Valuable Product (MVP) awards, co-sponsored by InfoStor magazine and the Association of Storage Networking Professionals (ASNP). The MVP awards are designed to showcase the "best of the best" storage networking products, as determined by discerning IT users.

Ricoh Strategic Alliance Partner of the Year—June 2006

EMC is named strategic alliance partner of the year by Ricoh Corporation, a leading provider of digital office equipment and multifunction products. The award recognizes EMC as Ricoh’s top revenue-contributing software vendor partner and the strong integration of EMC’s Captiva software solutions with Ricoh’s products.

Network Computing Magazine Editor’s Choice Award—June 2006

EMC VisualSRM software earns Network Computing magazine’s Editor’s Choice award in a competitive review of six SRM software suites. VisualSRM was selected based on its ease of configuration, broad platform support, and excellent analytic capabilities.

Eastman Chemical Company Supplier Excellence Award—June 2006

Eastman Chemical Company awards EMC its Supplier Excellence Award for providing superior performance and service during the company’s extensive storage upgrade in 2005.

AIIM 2006 Best of Show Award—May 2006

EMC Documentum eRoom and BPM content management software receive the coveted AIIM E-DOC Magazine AIIM 2006 Best of Show Award for demonstrating exceptional quality and evidence of significant ROI potential.

AIIM Annual "Best Practice" Awards—May 2006

Two EMC customers, Wolters Kluwer Health (WK Health) and Knights of Columbus, were honored as winners of the AIIM annual "Best Practice" awards for having the best enterprise content management (ECM) implementation within their industries. The organizations were recognized for their use of EMC Captiva InputAccel software.

Intelligent Enterprise Editor’s Choice Award—May 2006

IDC #1 Rankings—March 2006

In reports published by IDC, EMC is recognized as the revenue share leader in the external storage systems and storage management software markets. The reports ranked EMC #1 in revenue share in following market segments: external RAID systems, networked storage systems, SAN systems, NAS systems, replication software, and storage resource management software. They also name EMC the growth leader in the iSCSI SAN and backup and archive software segments in the fourth quarter of 2005.

InfoWorld Technology of the Year Awards—January 2006

EMC makes the Winners’ List in InfoWorld’s 2006 Technology of the Year Awards. The annual awards honor the top technologies expected to affect IT in the upcoming year.

  • EMC Invista was named Best Storage Virtualization solution.
  • EMC Documentum 5 was named Best Enterprise Content Management Solution for its unified approach to managing content creation, reuse, archiving, and disposal.
  • EMC’s VMware ESX Server, VirtualCenter, and Workstation 5.5 were named Best Server and Workstation Virtualization solutions.
